You will feel like a King when eating fresh lobster and you never forget your first taste. Lobster is a delicacy and there are many ways to prepare and enjoy it.

However, before you dive in and take a bite, you may want to learn a little more about what lobster is, how to eat it, where to get it, and how to prepare it.

A lobster is part of the marine species of crustaceans. You get them in different varieties, some with claws and others without. Some clawless ones include slipper lobsters, spiny lobsters and squat lobsters. Each has a slightly different taste and they look different too. Prices vary depending on the type of lobster you get.

What you usually think of when you think of eating a lobster is the clawed lobster, the reef lobster, and even the small freshwater crawfish. (Crawfish are found in many Creole and southern recipes.)

If you love seafood, you will almost definitely find lobster to be one of the tastiest and most special types. The lobster looks almost regal, sitting on the plate, and you know with a glance it is going to be succulent and bursting with flavor. Lobster is not cheap but you do get what you pay for.

The best prices (and usually the nicest, freshest lobster too) can be found in coastal regions and fishing villages. If you are far from the sea, the price will be higher. On average, a pound of lobster costs between $7.95 and $29.95, depending on the shop and its location.

If you are going to spend that kind of money on a meal, you should definitely understand how to prepare it. Preparing a delicious lobster is actually much easier than you may think. One tip you should adhere to when preparing a lobster at home is that you should plan on purchasing one lobster per person. Many fishmongers will offer to steam the lobster for you before you take it home, but in order to really enjoy the fresh taste, you should take the lobster home live.

Once you have boiled, grilled or steamed the lobster, an easy way to serve it is with a bib, lemon and butter. This can get messy but is a delicious way to bring out the unmistakable lobster taste in all its glory.

The simple lobster recipes tend to be the best way to enjoy the food. Lobster is a very special food and does not require a lot of frills to dress it up. If you do have leftovers (which is rare but might happen on occasion) you can take the lobster out of the shell and make lobster salad or a lobster po’boy sandwich for the following day’s lunch.

Lobster is for everyone, not just foodies or people who know a lot about gourmet cuisine. As long as you know where to buy it, how to prepare and serve it and you can find a simple recipe, that is all you need to know. Cooking lobster is relatively straightforward and it will certainly produce a delicious dinner to remember. If you have never tasted lobster, try ordering some at your local seafood restaurant. Once you have experienced the taste, you are sure to want to buy some and make your own!

Eating time is often the time that parents have a problem dealing with their children. They might have exhausted all their pretentions, acting, convincing words, in short all their might , just to sway or encourage their children eat, especially fruits and vegetables. A present study shows that presentation of the food is very effective.

In a study involving 100 kids ranging from four to seven years old, researchers from Holland found out that children ate twice as much fruit and vegetables when they were prepared in a visually appealing manner.

They found out that children were more likely to eat apples, grapes and watermelon when they were cut and affixed to cocktail sticks than when presented on a simple white plate.

The next step in the experiment was to group the kids into three groups. One group would be allowed to eat only from the plate with the appealing presentation. Another group would be allowed to eat only from the plate where the apples and grapes are simply left on it. The last group of kids may choose from the two plates: the artistically design plate or the simply white plate.

Another experiment used the same groupings and the same choices, but this time all of the groups were could eat from either plate. The result of the survey is that kids consume twice of the apples and grapes from the artistically presented plates than those left simply on the white plates. Those who were restricted on only one plate did not have any consequence on the appetite.

In the U.S., it is recommended that children consume about one to two cups of fruit daily.

Most children in America, though, consume a lot less than that. Only six percent eat the required amounts according to the Centers for Disease Control.

So the next time you are having a hard time getting your children to eat vegetables and fruits, think about getting creative with your presentations. Although more research is needed in order to determine the cause for this preference, there is no doubt that making fruit and vegetables appealing to a child’s eye will get him or her to eat more.

Pancakes are probably one of the quickest and easiest things that you are able to make in the kitchen. Everyone knows the pancake as also one of the most popular breakfast foods there is so it should definitely be in you arsenal of go-to breakfast dishes. One of the best facts about pancakes is you don’t need to stick to a strict recipe. Just make sure that you remember the basic ingredients and what the batter should look like when you’re done and you are set to make your own homemade pancakes.

Ingredients for the recipe
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil

Directions:
Get a large bowl for mixing your dry ingredients. Put your all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in the bowl and mix together. Next, start adding your wet ingredients to the dry mixture. Add your milk, vegetable oil, and egg to the bowl. Use a wire whisk or large fork to mix all the ingredients thoroughly until most of the clumps are gone.

Next it is time to cook up some pancakes! Get a griddle or frying pan, apply a light layer of oil to the pan, and place it over medium-high heat. Now it’s time to cook your pancakes. Scoop out approximately cup of batter for each pancake and pour it onto the pan. Cook pancakes until each side is a golden brown color. Once the second side is done your pancakes are ready to serve.

Be sure to enjoy your homemade pancakes with your favorite toppings. Maple syrup is always a great standby. Cover them with blueberry syrup if you want even more flavor. Feel free to tweak this recipe to your own liking. The best part about pancakes is that it’s really hard to make them bad, but it’s pretty easy to always make them better.

One of the best gifts you can get for Valentine’s Day is a nice bottle of wine or wine package. It’s a gift that you and your significant other can truly enjoy together. There are many different wines to choose from as well as many different gift ideas. So which one do you go with? Here are some great ones you can consider.

A great bottle of wine is a great compliment to chocolates and flowers. When buying wine, you should match it with the taste of the chocolate. If you’re buying light chocolate, it’s best to buy wine that has a light body. If buying heavier chocolate that is very rich or dark, you should go with a wine that is more full-bodied.

A great alternative to wine is a good bottle of champagne. Champagne goes especially well with chocolate and many prefer champagne over wine. To go with Valentine’s Day, you should consider buying pink champagne. This type of champagne tends to be fruitier compared to regular champagne. In many cases, pink champagne is sweeter but there are also ones that are not.

If you want to get something that pairs well together, you can go with gift baskets or wine sets. Many merchants set up special packages especially for Valentine’s Day. You can find a package that comes with various wines, delicious chocolate, and spreads that all complement each other. You can have these wine gifts delivered by looking for online merchants.

Now if your significant other has great knowledge on a wine, then you can buy a collection of wines according to the type he or she enjoys. For example, your significant other may enjoy dry red wine so you can look for a couple of bottles that fits the bill. Some merchants sell multiple bottles at discounts so you should look for various special offers.

Many people don’t have all the information when it comes to wines. When purchasing wine, don’t be afraid to contact the merchant and ask for help. You can ask for their recommendations, see what kind of wine gifts they have available, and take a look at which packages fit your budget.

If you’re completely stumped on what to get, you can just go with pink champagne. It fits the theme of Valentine’s Day and most people tend to enjoy it. Pink Champagne is also light so it goes with many different foods and candies that you may get for Valentine’s Day.

So those are some ideas that you can use for Valentine’s Day. You can save a lot of money and get more choices by looking at online merchants. Plus, you can get your wine gifts delivered the day you need it. It’s an easy way to get the perfect gift and celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved one.

Who doesn’t know what chocolates are? This may be the most well known confection that was discovered! They are found everywhere, from candies, drinks, cupcake recipes, cupcake frosting, cakes, ice-creams and now even on non edible products such as colognes. A little fact about our beloved treat is that the chocolate has been a part of our history probably more than we know. One of the most notable explanations about the origin of its name is that it came from the Nahuatl (Aztec language) word “xocolatl” which then became “chocolatl” to chocolate. Chocolate comes from the cacao bean which is being grown in Central and South America. It was used to serve ceremonial purposes before becoming an everyday treat for us.

Of course, the chocolate that we all know and love today is mostly sweet and has a very different taste from what the Aztecs or Mayans would have been familiar with. The first solid chocolate bars were produced in 1847 by Joseph Fry & Son, and since then the world has seen the introduction of a wide range of varieties, from white chocolate (not considered as chocolate at all by many) to pure, dark chocolate. Dark chocolate possesses certain health benefits, such as antioxidants, which inhibit the growth of free radicals, and it is thought to be good for the heart.

If you’re craving for chocolate, might as well try these simple chocolate finds:

Chocolate Brownies
Brownies are so good and all you need to make one is cocoa powder, eggs, shortening, egg, sugar, pecans, vanilla essence, flour, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips. Melt the shortening and then add the cocoa powder. Remove from the heat. Mix the sugar and eggs together and then slowly add the remaining ingredients, stirring in the pecans lastly. Bake for half an hour and leave to cool before cutting into squares. You can top it off with chocolate ganache, chocolate glaze or even ice-cream.

Chocolate cupcakes
Those cupcakes with luscious cupcake frostings in bakeshops are simply mouthwatering. You yourself can definitely make your own cupcakes, you can find a variety of chocolate cupcake recipes in the Internet and video tutorials on how to do it too, simple ingredients can be bought in the grocery as well as those cupcake papers and toppings. You can also customize your cupcake recipe by adding your own frostings.

-You can find a variety of cupcake recipes based on chocolate that are easy to make. Here’s a simple example: All you need is: cocoa powder, hot water, flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla essence. Cream the butter and sugar together and then add the eggs. Fold in the flour and then the cocoa until the mixture is smooth. Then spoon the batter into cupcake papers and bake. Then it’s time for the frosting. (Cupcake frosting is a major part of any cupcake recipe.) Melt some baking chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water. Remove and leave cool. Meanwhile, beat some butter and then sugar together and add vanilla essence. To this, add the chocolate and beat till smooth. Then you can add it to the cakes.

Once done, it’s time to add your favorite cupcake frosting. A cupcake recipe won’t be complete without it. Find a recipe and choose from buttercream, royal icing, cooked or the classic glaze frosting.

Adding chocolate in a recipe not only adds flavor but also gives the recipe that sophisticated touch. One can really become addicted to this confection and who could be blamed? However, as heavenly as this chocolate is, too much is still bad. We should still eat things in moderation so we won’t have to suffer consequences.

Expert contributing article writer Anya really loves giving her helpful fresh ideas about home baking. And her best hidden-secret is undoubtedly her place for looking for cupcake recipes and chocolate cup cake recipe.
