Even though chicken soup and most every other one-pot style chicken dish may be right up there, for some reason chicken and dumplings just whispers “relax” gently in your ear.
Each person and each family has their own opinion of what a real chicken and dumplings meal should be. Depending on where you grew up and how your folks cooked would determine how you prefer making this chicken recipe. Let’s examine a couple basic differences in some simple chicken and dumplings cooking methods.
Let’s start with the actual pot of chicken. Many people prefer to make their chicken and dumplings by beginning with a big pot of broth type chicken soup. That’s a great way to make a chicken and dumplings recipe because everyone likes your chicken soup already, so you can’t lose. You already have perfected your chicken soup, so why not just drop in the dumplings? It works just fine that way, and is delicious.
Now we have the creamy chicken stew style of recipe. After you cook the chicken in a pot of water or broth, basically stewing it, you pick the meat off from the bones, shred or dice it, and return the meat to the pot. Then you add whatever you want to make it creamy – sour cream, milk, cream, or a combination. You can also add some chopped vegetables; anything you might in a stew. Once you bring the stew back up to a boil, you add the dumplings and cook until dumplings are done. You may have to add a bit of extra broth or water, but the end result is a thick, stew like dish with dumplings on top.
You can also choose to make an oven baked version. You begin by baking chicken parts in a Dutch oven until they are tender. Then you remove the Dutch oven and place it on the stove top. You’ll add your vegetables with broth or water and cook until the vegetables are almost tender, then drop in your dumplings. This adds a great oven roasted flavor to the chicken and dumplings dish and some find the browning of the chicken more desirable than stewing the chicken. You’ll serve this with the cut up chicken pieces left intact; not deboned and shredded, much like serving a pot roast with veggies and potatoes on the side.
The subject of dumplings could be exhausting. We tend to take our dumplings quite seriously. However, some prefer to speed up the process and swear by the simple store bought biscuit, cut up and dropped into the chicken pot. Others prefer to whip up a simple dumpling with basic ingredients like flour, eggs, oil, salt, and ice water. You can even make dumplings with just flour, salt, and ice water. You can also make them a bit fancy with the addition of seasonings, cheese, and herbs.
No matter what you use, the trick for making good dumplings is in the cooking method itself. Unfortunately, there is no hard and fast rule to follow about cooking good dumplings. You’ll find recipes that call for cooking the dumplings covered and uncovered. You’ll find recipes that call for boiling the mixture and some for simmering slowly. No matter what you choose, the results will be a labor of love, and therefore delicious!

Chicken Chow Mein is really a Chinese dish consisting of noodles mixed with chicken and vegetables.
It is also recognized as Chicken Chow Noodles because it includes the delicious Chinese noodles.
Ingredients for preparing recipe for Chicken Chow Mein are;
4 Tablespoons of Red Palm and Canola Oil 6 cloves of fresh garlic, finely chopped Ginger root (approx 1 inch, thinly sliced) 4 medium onions, coarsely chopped 2 significant chicken legs 4 medium onions, coarsely chopped 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 2 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 tablespoons reduced salt light soy sauce 2 chicken stock cubes 3 carrots sliced 2 corn cobs, corn removed 2 leeks, sliced 2 red chili peppers, sliced thinly 1 green chili pepper, sliced thinly 350 grams dried medium Chinese noodles
Procedures:
Put the oil into the pan on heat Add the chopped garlic and ginger into the hot oil and stir for about two minutes In an additional separate pan, fry the chicken meat for a couple of minutes Remove them from the pan then chop the meat into modest cubes and mix the chopped meat with the onions within the pan containing garlic and ginger Reduce the heat to by a third then add Chinese cooking wine and five spice, sesame seeds, black pepper and soy sauce into the pan to mix and stir with the chicken for about two minutes. Add sliced carrots, corn and leek, then stir for 3 minutes Reduce the heat again and add chilies then stir for three minutes. Boil the Chinese noodles in a large pan of water till soft Drain the water out of the noodles. Serve the noodles in a wide plate in circular motion as you leave a gap at the centre of the circle where you will put the already cooked chicken mix.
Chicken Chow Mein is really a healthy diet.
